Measles Resurgence in Bangladeshimmunisation
Lessons for Immunisation Policy and Practice from the Deadly Measles Resurgence in Bangladesh
This project examines the 2026 measles resurgence in Bangladesh, highlighting how disruptions in immunisation services and declining vaccine coverage led to a preventable outbreak. By analysing surveillance data, programme gaps, and contextual factors, it identifies key drivers of the crisis and their impact on vulnerable populations. The project aims to generate actionable insights to strengthen routine immunisation, improve outbreak preparedness, and support evidence-based policy and programmatic responses to prevent future resurgences.

Psychiatric Morbidities Active
Study Among Private Universities students post-uprising
This project, funded by the Government of Bangladesh, investigates the mental health impact of the July 2024 uprising in Bangladesh, a period marked by intense political unrest and violence. Focusing on students from five universities who directly experienced these events, the study aims to better understand the psychological consequences in a context where mental health remains under-recognised. Using a cross-sectional design and validated Bangla assessment tools, the research will examine levels of depression, anxiety, and stress among affected students. The findings will provide evidence to inform targeted mental health interventions, support services, and future research, contributing to more responsive public health policies in Bangladesh.

Digital Mental HealthActive
Public Awareness and Accessibility to Digital Mental Health Services in the UK
This collaborative project with University College London and Newcastle University explores digital mental health systems as a scalable, accessible, and culturally adaptable model of care. Focusing on the United Kingdom where services such as NHS Talking Therapies are well established, the study examines public awareness, perceptions, and real-world use of digital mental health services.
The research aims to identify key barriers to access, including cultural attitudes, digital literacy, and system-level challenges, and to generate evidence for more inclusive and effective service delivery. Findings will inform practical, culturally sensitive recommendations to strengthen digital mental health provision and improve population-level access to care.
